January 21st, 2010 by Kathy

Kathy was able to walk “the Ravine” today which is an area where shacks have been built against a wall near where the sewer drainage runs.  This is the area where many of the families that Dorothy and Sherrie work with come from.  For the most part it appears that this area has stood through the earthquake and subsequent aftershocks!  Mesi Jezi!!!  Kathy and the men from the team were able to walk through and connect with families, check on those needing care, and give out LOTS of food!  I am hoping to talk to Kathy tonight and hear more about what happened on that walk.  To walk the Ravine on any given day was a life changing thing, no matter how many times you had done it before.  The beauty and pain that eyed you, called your name, and ran alongside and grabbed your hand along that path was more than any words or photograph could ever capture.  To do it today…wow.
