Our History

Our history with Haiti has been building over about 9 years and we are honored to be involved. The relationships we have built and continue to build with communities there move us forward in the work we do. We are not courageous, not brave, not important… simply, we are motivated by love. We collaberate with many missionaries, schools, pastors, feeding programs, and organizations to aid in the restoration and progress.

2003: MUCH began working in Haiti with our first mission to the village of Bersey in 2003. It was a life changing event for us and we have and will never recover!

2004: Gathered Artists to create ” Haiti Rocks” project. The beginning of what was to become “Second Story Goods ” Pastor Conference held in PAP

2005: Spent April / May in Bersey Orphanage.

2006: Since then we have had the honor of working with many amazing Missionaries and Haitian people in this beautiful country… in collaboration with orphanages, churches and schools, infant rescue and feeding programs.

2007: MUCH became a registered 501© 3 charitable organization and began to support missionaries in Haiti to live on a full time basis. Emory and Mary Wilson began the Full Time work in Gonaives.

Pastor and Rose Genada became official MUCH missionaries.
Natasha Taylor, now Jovin worked for 10 months with Dorothy Pearce, of Faith, Hope and Love Infant Rescue in PAP.

2009: Casey Nichols worked with Dorothy Pearce , Infant Rescue in PAP.
Continued in PAP and in Gonaives bringing in teams to build, teach and build relationships within these communities.

The earth shook on January 12th and everything went into rescue mode. We began flying in within a few days after the quake. We worked with so many heroic people: Missionaries, the UN and NGO’s from all over the world, so many that came to help Haiti in her hour of need. Walls were rebuilt, children clothed and thousands of people fed, water supplied, tarps for shelters and mostly comfort given. thousands of people , all working together..sharing resources and helping to save lives. IT was an amazing event …”the overcoming of suffering. ” Much is humbled to have been even a small part.

2011: First class of Trade School Haiti in Jubilee, Gonaives.
Handmade Jewelry and Journals from Trade School Haiti are put in Market Place and Wake Up Coffee to sell!

“Although the world is full of suffering, It is also full of the overcoming of it.” – Helen Keller
